The numbers reflect that less than 1% of civil matters are resolved by trial. However, Laborde Siegel, LLC's record is an exception to the rule. In 2024, 15 different L/S attorneys tried 10 civil cases to verdict. 8 of these cases were tried to a jury. 5 of these cases resulted in a complete defense verdict. 9 different venues ranged from Jefferson County, Texas ?? St. Landry Parish, Louisiana ?? United States District Court for Louisiana and venues in between. 2025 is already off to a fast start. Another successful outcome for a Laborde Siegel, LLC client! Recently, the Judge Barbier granted the Defendant's Motion for Summary Judgment supporting a waiver of UM/UIM coverage in the policy at issue. Plaintiff argued a genuine issue of material fact existed as to the authority of a corporation's risk manager to execute the waiver. The Court found that "in the face of a properly completed form, Plaintiff fails to rebut the legislative presumption that [the corporation] knowingly waived UM/UIM coverage through its risk manager." Well done William Worsley!
