? Proud Moment for the Guatemalan Workforce!????? ?? Last Sunday, August 25th, marked a milestone for LaMP’s "GuateCruises: Training for Guatemalan Workers in the Cruise Industry" program as we celebrated the graduation of our very first cohort! This groundbreaking 3-month training, delivered by Trabajo sin Fronteras, equipped 42 talented individuals (31 women and 11 men) with the skills needed for successful careers on cruise ships. These graduates, honored as "Ambassadors of Excellence," are pioneers in the Guatemalan workforce, helping to forge a new #laborpathway for Guatemala in the #cruiseindustry. Many are already interviewing with The Walt Disney Company Cruise Lines and Costa Crociere S.p.A., and we are thrilled to share that 30 have received offer letters and will be embarking on their first job at sea this fall! The journey for these trailblazers is just beginning, and we couldn't be more excited about the doors they are opening for future #Guatemalan workers. LaMP's "GuateCruises: Training for Guatemalan workers to open job opportunities in the cruise industry as an alternative to irregular migration" is being implemented in partnership with Trabajo sin Fronteras, and in cooperation with IOM - UN Migration Guatemala, under the "Addressing the Root Causes for Irregular Migration" which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
