关于我们
LA2050 is a community-guided initiative driving and tracking progress toward a shared vision for the future of Los Angeles. With the LA community, we developed five broad, aspirational goals to make LA the best place to learn, create, play, connect, and live. LA2050 deploys financial, human, and social capital to build a better future--a future for Angelenos, shaped by Angelenos. We accomplish this through research and reporting, tracking progress on the indicators and goals, highlighting civic leaders and organizations around the region, and activating Angelenos to be a part of shaping the future. LA2050 is an initiative of and incubated by the Goldhirsh Foundation.

We are so excited to welcome our fourth LA2050 Youth Ambassador Cohort! ?? This year’s group includes 330 Angelenos between ages 14 and 24, representing more than 145 different communities across Los Angeles County. They are middle and high school students, college students, and young professionals with a shared interest in making LA better, together. Right now, our Youth Ambassadors are spreading the word about voting in the 2025 LA2050 Grants Challenge to their communities – friends, family, classmates, co-workers, and neighbors. In return, they learn about our local impact sector and receive training in community outreach. Read more about our LA2050 Youth Ambassador Cohort: https://lnkd.in/gv6ks48b

We're taking it to the streets of Los Angeles to find out what Angelenos really care about during the #LA2050GrantsChallenge, for our series we're calling, "What's Your Issue, LA?" On a recent sunny, windy Monday morning, we met Amae, a USC undergraduate student. Clad in sweats and on her way to Trader Joe’s following an early morning class, Amay stopped to share with us what issue is most important to her. In regards to the issue of homelessness, Amae said “I’m not from LA, so it’s very shocking to see so many people living on the streets.” Let us know what YOU care about by voting here: https://lnkd.in/g6z4kUeE – it will help distribute $1M across Los Angeles to the top-voted issues. #LATogether https://lnkd.in/gi3HDj7f

Join us as we explore our #LA2050GrantsChallenge archives, ahead of this year’s launch. ?? Today, we’re looking back at 2024. “Who Can? YOU Can!” For our 11th Grants Challenge, we wanted to emphasize the role of collective action in creating a brighter future. For the first time, we asked Angelenos to both vote and volunteer for the issues that mattered most to them. The result? 105,000 votes to determine our funding priorities, 9,450 hours of volunteer service, and a record-breaking 872 grant proposals. [Image: “Who Can? You Can” graphic, Lauren Song, 2024.] Stay tuned for a special announcement on March 12th. ??

Join us as we explore our LA2050 Grants Challenge archives, ahead of this year’s launch. For our ninth Grants Challenge, we introduced a new twist. Rather than inviting the public to vote for organizations and their proposals, we shifted the focus to issue areas. More than 8,000 people responded to the call, together casting almost 60,000 total votes for what they cared about most. The result? $2.6 million awarded to 37 organizations at our first-ever Grantee Showcase! [Image: “We Care About LA” poster, Johnathan Huang, 2022.] Stay tuned for more from the archives – plus a special announcement on March 12th.
