This month’s Leadership Sacramento class had a wonderful Farm-to-Fork day! We met with industry leaders in agriculture, grocery, education, and communities in Yolo County. We started at La Tourangelle in Woodland, where we toured their community garden, picked fresh herbs and veggies, and made a delicious pasta salad—farm-to-fork at its finest. Next, we visited the Center for Land-Based Learning and wrapped up the day with a panel discussion at the Yolo County Farm Bureau. Local farmers shared insights on regenerative farming practices, the challenges they face, and the importance of educating future generations about where their food comes from. One key takeaway was the importance of supporting our local farmers. By buying local, reading labels, and ensuring our purchases benefit nearby growers, we can make a lasting impact on our community.
