This week, our team filled the freezers at the Avondale and Millville Centers (Cincinnati Recreation Comm). We’re feeding the community delicious chef-prepared soupes and meals to ensure food access for all! Thank you to CareSource and the CITY OF CINCINNATI - HEALTH DEPARTMENT for partnering with us to make this program possible. ??

From THEN to WOW! ???? When we first stepped into this space, we saw the potential. Fast forward to today, and it's a whole new reality. Swipe to see the transformation of our kitchen bay, dining room, dock, and fridges—where hard work, vision, and purpose brought this mission to life. ???? And here’s something we’re especially proud of: Since moving into 915 E. McMillan Street, we have kept 6.1 million pounds of food out of landfills!

"I chose to become a registered dietician after losing my grandfather to a stroke, a consequence of unmanaged diabetes. His passing fueled my mission to help others prioritize their health and enjoy more quality time with their loved ones." At La Soupe, being an RD means blending nutrition expertise with culinary creativity to make a real impact in the community. From collaborating with chefs to crafting nutritious, flavorful meals from rescued food, it’s about ensuring those facing food insecurity receive meals that truly support their well-being. Here’s to the power of food, education, and empowerment—helping create a healthier future for all! ??? #RDDay

?? Celebrating the Women of La Soupe! ?? This International Women’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible women who make La Soupe what it is! ?? From our visionary founder to the hardworking team that nourishes our communities, these women are changing lives—one meal at a time. What started as a mission to feed hungry children has grown into a movement that supports families, schools, and entire communities every day. ?

Big wins for food access and community impact! ???? Last Wednesday, our Executive Director, Emmy Schroder, spoke before the Cincinnati City Council on the critical link between nutrition, food access, and community well-being. Thanks to broad support for this measure, the council passed an Impact Award as part of a larger gun violence prevention effort, prioritizing support for families of color, single mothers, and those with disabilities. Thursday, our Director of Education, Corinna Asbury, testified before the Ohio House Children & Human Services Committee, advocating for state budget funding to support nonprofits like La Soupe and other Rescue Kitchens across Ohio. This is why we advocate. This is why we fight food insecurity. This is why we keep going! ??

?La Soupe was one of many city partners and city employees invited to City Hall today to be recognized by the Cincinnati City Council for the roles we played in keeping citizens fed and warm during the coldest weeks of January 2025. La Soupe was appreciated for delivering a hot dinner for 200 people every afternoon. What an honor!
