As part of our 85th-anniversary celebrations, we're thrilled to unveil a special video ?? that takes you on a charming journey through LPEA's history. This production isn't just another corporate video – it's designed to be disruptive, reminding you that we're more than just an ? electric bill. The video depicts our eras of progress through period-appropriate ?? vehicles, which serve as a thread connecting our past ?? to our present ?? . It's amazing to think that we once used draft horses to pull up poles! What truly brings this story to life are the community members who appear in the video, embodying the spirit of our cooperative. Every scene is filmed ?? right here in LPEA's ?? service territory, using props sourced from the coop itself! This creative approach celebrates our rich history while highlighting the timeless spirit of community ???????? that has powered our region for nearly a century. It's a testament to how far we've come and a reminder of the strong bonds that continue to drive us forward. Read more at lpea.coop/85years

We are celebrating our 85th anniversary! To mark this special milestone, we’re unveiling a commemorative logo that honors our rich history while embracing a sustainable future. Inspired by a 1950s photograph, our new design reflects our deep roots and commitment to the community. Check out our press release for all the details on the logo unveiling and our ongoing dedication to serving Southwest Colorado. https://bit.ly/4dmsdtq As a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative founded in 1939, we’re proud to carry forward the legacy of the farmers and ranchers who first sought to electrify their homes. Here’s to many more years of resilience and innovation! #LPEA85 #CommunityPower

Today, we recognize and appreciate our hard-working lineworkers at LPEA. Lineworkers are the backbone of our electric grid, braving dangerous conditions to keep the power flowing to our homes and businesses. Our lineworkers demonstrate dedication and commitment to our community every single day. Their tireless efforts often go unnoticed, but we know how essential they are to powering our lives. Join us in thanking the brave people who make up our LPEA linework teams. We are grateful for your service and proud to have you as part of the LPEA family. #LPEALineworkers #LineworkerAppreciationDay

We are so proud of Ethan!
CREA connected with Youth Leadership Council participant Ethan McGuinness from La Plata Electric Association at NRECA's Annual Meeting to hear about his experience at this year's #PowerXchange. "It's such an incredible experience getting to connect with different kids and professionals from all over the country and all over the world. I have met some wonderful people from Texas, Oregon, New York, and Maine... It's been a great educational opportunity to learn how rural electric co-ops are powering our world," shared McGuinness. It was the 2023 Washington D.C. Youth Tour that inspired Ethan to pursue a career in politics, public service, and history. "The Youth Tour trip changed my life. I now have a goal to attend Colorado State University to study political science," said McGuinness.?
