What a hands-on learning opportunity for these University of Tennessee at Martin students! Dr. Sandy Mehlhorn’s Surveying with GPS class utilized the control network we set up as part of the annual Mid-South American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Symposium. This consisted of 10 metal pins being physically placed into the campus grounds, each with a GPS coordinate and elevation assigned to them.

Certification as a survey technician is official recognition by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) that he has demonstrated his knowledge and competence to perform surveying tasks at a specified technical level.
