Want to learn a new language online for free? We’re excited to announce that a new online Jèrriais beginner course will take place from Monday 28th April to Monday 14th July from 12:00 to 12:45 (U.K time). The course includes 10 lessons of 45 minutes each and is free! During this course, you will learn conversational skills on the following topics: greeting and introducing yourself, countries, and nationalities; pets; describing objects; local festivals and traditions, festivals around the world; talking about family; asking and saying the time, describing your house etc.. Come and join us at Jersey Library in town tomorrow morning from 10-12 for our Community Languages Celebration! There will be multilingual storytelling throughout the morning, along with a chance to create some artwork and you can even try some traditional food from some of our language communities in Jersey!

Introducing Jèrriais Story & Rhyme Time! ?? Run by the Jèrriais Teaching Service, The Jersey Library will be hosting a fun session this Thursday (13th Feb) at 11:00am, including engaging stories, nursery rhymes and songs and interactive activities for children aged 2 to 4 years old. This fascinating session aims to foster an early appreciation of local culture and language through storytelling, rhyme, song and play, and will run every other Thursday during term time, always at 11:00am.
