We announced today that L Catterton Asia has invested in Viee, a beverage company renowned in southwestern China for its plant-based drinks which are most frequently consumed alongside the spicy dishes that characterize the region’s cuisine. Made predominantly from peanuts and walnuts, its beverages are highly effective as spice ‘neutralizers’ and considered by consumers in Sichuan and Chongqing as “must-have drinks” when eating spicy food. Coupled with their reputation for tasting great, being nutritious, as well as being additive- and preservative-free, their efficacy has led Viee to become the top-selling non-carbonated, non-alcoholic beverage brand in the region.
