Test methods include impact and fatigue tests, friction, wear, and heat tests. In order to capture the effects of these fast phenomena, a device with a high sampling frequency and dynamic range is required.     In recent years, there has been an increase in the use of high-performance concrete, such as high-strength concrete and high-flow concrete. A potential problem, especially with concrete installed in the summer, is that drying due to evaporation of water from the surface can cause cracking as temperatures rise. In these cases, it is important to clarify the mechanism of autogenous shrinkage to limit cracking and improve durability. Kyowa provides two types of embedded gages effective for crack analysis of material, and foil gage suitable for strain measurement on the surface of a concrete specimen. ? #KC series gages are wire strain gages suitable for strain measurement of concrete under test. Usually, a model with the gage length over 3 times longer than the maximum diameter of the aggregate (gravel, sand, etc.) is selected for the purpose. ? #KMC series gages are designed to measure self-shrinkage and self-stress of cemented materials. They enable measurement of the self-shrinkage and high-fluidity concrete immediately after placement.   They are also used to effectively check for cracks of cemented materials. Usually, a T-type thermocouple is installed near the gage, while the KMC H4 type make it easier since they are equipped with a built-in thermocouple. ? #KM series gages are designed to be embedded in mortar or concrete for the purpose of measuring the internal stress. To ensure better adhesion to mortar or the like, the KM series gages feature a specially treated surface. They also provide suitable waterproofness and elastic modulus for the intended purpose. #kyowa #concrete #kmc #km #straingage #straingauge

    Wanted: Evaluation Test for #PCB’s. Almost every electronic device manufactured today uses a printed circuit board (#PCB).?Personal computers, cellular phones, digital cameras, electronic measuring instruments, car navigation equipment, automobile drive control parts.... As the complexity and number of mounting components increases, PCBs are given ever higher packaging density and at the same time they are designed to dimensional and structural limits ever smaller in size and lighter in weight. To support the evaluation of the mechanical and thermal properties of PCBs, KYOWA developed the #KFRS series gages. These gages enable PCB users and manufacturers to check whether the PCBs they use or manufacture conform with relevant standards. The strain gages can also be used to verify the reliability of PCBs by checking against company design standards. They deserve attention because they: (1) are easy to handle (2) are highly accurate (3) require less testing expense (4) are small-sized (5) yield test results immediately (6) endure severe testing environments. In combination with KYOWA measuring instruments such as the PCD-400B or EDX Series, the KFRS gages will surely satisfy all needs for evaluation tests of PCBs. #kyowa #straingage #straingauge #KFRS #PCB #evaluationtest

    When strain gage transducers are used outdoors with extended cables, measurement errors occur because of cable conductor resistance, ambient temperature changes, and other factors. By using 6-wire, this error factor can be eliminated, and the bridge voltage stabilized. For example, if a 0.5mm2 multi-core cable is extended 100m, conductor resistance = 0.4Ω, resulting in a round-trip resistance of 8.0Ω in the input circuit in Figure 1. If the input/output resistance of the transducer is 350Ω, the voltage at both ends of the bridge will be e=(E?Ks?ε)/4, resulting in a decrease in sensitivity of about 2.2%. Furthermore, if the ambient temperature changes by 10°C during measurement, the voltage at both ends of the transducer will fluctuate by 0.1%, so even a load cell with an accuracy of 0.02% will lose significant accuracy. As shown in Figure 2, when two ”sense lines" are added to the bridge power supply, the Error amplifier and Control Circuit makes the bridge input voltage is constant regardless of the cable resistance r.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? This feature enables highly accurate and stable measurements.
