The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation (MolinaCares), in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare, donated $25,000 to the Rita June Foundation, Inc. to support its efforts to combat food insecurity through the organization’s pantry program. The MolinaCares funding is the largest donation ever for the Louisville-based pantries. The donation will purchase 9,500 pounds of food. According to Feeding America’s most recent data, nearly 102,000 individuals were considered food insecure in 2022 in Jefferson County. That’s up from 77,700 in 2021, marking a 31% increase in just one year. From 2019 to 2023, the price of food rose by 25%. To address the growing need the Rita June Foundation, started by LDG Development, Inc., opened five strategically-located pantries in affordable housing properties across Louisville, stocked solely by the donations of the company’s employees. | LDG Development, LLC
