关于我们

The Koreatown Youth and Community Center is a nonprofit, community-based organization that has been serving the Koreatown community since 1975. KYCC's programs and services are specifically directed towards recently immigrated, economically disadvantaged youth and their families who experience coping and adjustment difficulties due to language and cultural barriers. Since its inception, KYCC has striven to improve the quality of its programs, as well as to diversify its services to meet the evolving needs of the Korean American population and the multiethnic Koreatown community.

  • KYCC Prevention Education's Koreatown, Pico Union, and Westlake Rooted (KPWR) Youth Project seeks to enhance greenspace access for 30 young individuals in these areas, equipping them to serve as environmental advocates in their local communities. From April to November, KPWR youth interns participated in weekly meetings, covering a range of modules which allowed interns to refine their facilitation and public speaking skills by engaging their peers in group discussions on topics such as the benefits of plants for health, the significance of green spaces in urban settings, and food security. In addition, the interns assisted in conducting a total of 35 Green Space Environmental Scan surveys during their visits to local parks and community gardens. Read more here https://lnkd.in/gWe5zE5t

  • KYCC's Clinical Services has partnered with Special Service for Groups and the Public Health Institute Alcohol Research Group to create a report titled "AANHPI Youth Mental Health: Hearing Their Voices and Understanding Their Perspectives." This report reveals a concerning truth: although many AANHPI youth experience high rates of depression and suicidal thoughts, their voices often go unheard, and significant obstacles prevent them from seeking assistance. To read the full report, please visit https://lnkd.in/gebkaqen. To respond to these urgent needs, KYCC is now enrolling participants for our mental health program, which caters to individuals aged 0-25, including those with Medi-Cal or without insurance. We provide services for families in English, Korean, and Spanish. For an eligibility screening, please reach out to us at (213) 365-7400. #KYCCLA #MentalHealth
