This election season is hectic. That’s not news, but it’s always important to name. Leaders, you have important roles to play right now, and it starts with your state of being. To help, Pacific School of Religion created a free resource on Political Theology to help combat the noise and remind us how to posture ourselves over these next few weeks and months. So excited for what’s to come!
#leadwithlove For the last week, Auburn Theological Seminary hosted emerging faith leaders to build community, bridge divides, pursue justice, and heal the world. The focus of the week from President Rev. Dr. Emma Jordan-Simpson was #healing centered #leadership. The curriculum designed and carried out by Associate Dean Shannon Daley-Harris provided skill building and opportunities to practice and a #futurist simulation led by Dean Rev. Patrick B. Reyes, Ph.D. Next year, Auburn will launch a full year-long leadership program based on the curriculum and in partnership with Kwaray offering participants a chance to go deeper and share learnings longer. Grateful for our leadership team and the work of this ten-generation institution.

Thrilled to announce a project close to my heart and faith journey: Kwaray, an innovative community-based learning platform for rising faith leaders, has officially launched! Helping leaders align their spiritual beliefs with the urgent needs of our communities, so they can take action...is what it's all about. ?? After 25 years in Higher Ed, and stepping away from event/fashion show production over a decade ago, never imagined I'd find myself drawn back in this way, following a divine invitation from someone near and dear, to direct production of masterclass-level spiritual courses. Chung, Byron, you have a gift for bringing together the cream of the crop. So many would follow you to the ends of the earth! Your leadership + trust on this venture, and in our team, is why we are here. To the OG crew Justine Nguyen, Jonathon Murillo, M.Div, Meredith Partida, Jai Patel, Cindy Liu, prayers answered with each yes, to your joining this team, and for your leadership, while deepening trust and driving this project to its highest potential! Thank you for your friendship and continuing to say yes to the now! Darin Beaman, grateful for the countless hours in iteration, articulating our brand story so creatively! Alicia Paullin so incredibly good to be back with you + the instructional design on these courses is always a masterpiece because of your precision and care. Robert Cordova, MBA you are a blessing + a phenom! Maurice King, from podcast host to growth driver, blessed with your presence and friendship! Special thanks to Lei Wang, JW Buck, Mondo Scott, and Josue Carballo Huertas for your care and watchful eye on platform design to graphic design! Kwaray's inaugural course catalog includes the spiritual teachings of visionary leaders I'm blessed to call friends - Neil Goldberg: Design Thinking for Social Change,?Rev. Dr. Aizaiah G. Yong, Ph.D.: Spiritual Leadership Toward Multiracial Justice,?Nikole Lim and Jean Nangwala: Survivor Leadership,?Osheta Moore: Embrace These Hours, Dorcas Cheng-Tozun: Nonviolence,?Keisha Polonio, LCSW: Mental Health, Tiffany Bluhm Cultural Identity, and election offerings from Leonard McMahon, PhD and Drew Jackson. Matt Tripp, Zack @ Luma Productions LLC, Johnny Murillo, Sid, + Bethany @ The Fourth Man Productions - these courses are highly stylized because of your supreme post production support! Eternally grateful! It’s been a labor of love, in community—a journey shared with talented partners, dear friends, and an inspiring team of professionals! Deeply grateful for the leadership of David Vásquez-Levy, and unwavering support from Murry Evans, Janett Cabanero, Janneth Orozco, Jacob Perez, Ann Jefferson, Natasha Lee, Michelle Estrellado, Lisa Asedillo, PhD, Bernard Schlager at Pacific School of Religion. To our partners, donors, and friends, thank you for believing in our mission! ?? Get a behind-the-scenes take on the origins of our work!
I am more than excited to share my podcast episode with Change Happens Now, the official podcast produced by The Ignite Institute at Pacific School of Religion , where I openly shared my story that led me to this work of Kwaray and why Kwaray not only knits all aspects of my identities into one holistic vision, but also calls for rising faith leaders to deeply integrate all aspects of who they are to fearlessly encounter god-sized problems in this decaying world. I invite you all to tune in to this episode with curiosity to what Kwaray is about. Maybe Kwaray is what you didn’t know you were missing. Follow us and witness our launch in 6 days. Come slow down with us. Come dive deep into yourself with us. Come put your why into work with us. NOW. Thank you, Dena Boeddeker Maurice King , for hosting and producing this episode. Thank you to all my colleagues and friends at Kwaray and at Pacific School of Religion . I cannot imagine doing this work with anyone else. Follow Kwaray today at Kwaray.org.
