This week was Global Citizenship week at the American Creativity Academy and I couldn’t be prouder of the work the KG team has done this week that has been 2+ years in the making. In Spring 2022 Laura Griffiths, Stephanie Freeman, Claire Shea, and I went on the search to bring new opportunities and learning styles to our PreK, KG1, and KG2 students, teachers, and parents. As we began, we saw the benefits of student led projects and learning in the early years program at Kuwait Reggio Center. Fast forward to this week, KG Hawally students created a museum in our school with each class serving as an exhibit for different countries. Our students led this learning journey with teachers and teaching assistants supporting their interests and helping them to build these exhibits through crafts, structures, constructing monuments and cities. Our students then created tickets for their parents and invited them to the opening of the museum today. Students were able to serve as curators and guides of their created museum exhibits and explain everything they had learned to their parents. All families were invited to visit all classes(exhibits) and learn alongside their children. Our team has never seen students so happy to share their learning and truly understand the amazing countries around the world. Way to go to all staff, students, and parents for their support in efforts to get to this point. The future is bright!??
