KJLC Team Triumphs at Polar Plunge for Pennsylvania Special Olympics This month, we participated in the annual Polar Plunge event to benefit the Pennsylvania Special Olympics, and it was an incredible success. Our colleagues led the way with a team of 26 brave plungers. This was our fourth year taking part in the plunge, and together we managed to hit our fundraising goal for this cause! The #KJLC team proudly took 14th place in raising funds. A special thank you goes out to our champions and those who went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts. The funds raised will go to the Pennsylvania Special Olympics, who are supporting athletes by providing them with opportunities to train, compete, and achieve their dreams. We are immensely proud of our team and deeply thankful to everyone who supported this cause. A heartfelt thank you to all who participated, donated, and cheered us on. We couldn't have done it without you! #PolarPlunge #SpecialOlympics #TeamKJLC #enablingtechnologyforabetterworld

Showcasing Advanced UHV Cylindrical Chambers for Precision Research We are proud to present eight small UHV cylindrical chambers manufactured for Dr. Aldo Ejlli at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute). These chambers, crafted from 316L tubes and 316LN flanges, underwent additional processing such as electropolishing and vacuum firing to enhance their vacuum performance. Dr. Ejlli's team will use these chambers to house UHV optical elements for precision laser interferometry in fundamental physics research. This includes searching for dark matter and verifying quantum electrodynamics predictions, such as vacuum magnetic birefringence. We extend our gratitude to Dr. Ejlli and his team for choosing us as their research partner. #PrecisionEngineering #UHVChambers #FundamentalPhysics #LaserInterferometry #ScientificResearch

Exploring Silicon Saxony: A Hub for Semiconductor Innovation Kurt J. Lesker Company is proud to be part of the thriving semiconductor industry in Saxony, Germany, often referred to as "Silicon Saxony". Recently, our Director of Global Business Development, Zoran Misetic, and Product Manager, Andreas Wieser, visited Germany and had an insightful discussion with Prof. Dr. André Anders, Director and CEO of The Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM) in Leipzig. Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/ebUT5nGP During their visit, they explored the town of Dresden, home to numerous microelectronics, smart systems, and computer component companies. Zoran also visited our Dresden factory, highlighting why KJLC has a strong presence here. Our strategic location allows us to be a key player in the semiconductor and high-tech industries, providing fast delivery and support to our European customers, fostering research and innovation. Discover more about Zoran's visit and insights into why Germany is a fertile ground for industrial companies. #SiliconSaxony #SemiconductorIndustry #Innovation #HighTech #KurtJLesker #KindofLife

Advancing Quantum Computing with Indium Bump Bonding Indium bumps are a key technology required for scalable, high-performance quantum computing architectures, particularly in superconducting qubit systems, offering cryogenic stability and excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. Our PVD225i platform is the perfect tool for the fabrication of high-quality indium bumps. With the ability to deposit thick, uniform indium films at high deposition rates our approach includes optimising chamber pressure, throw distance, along with source & substrate temperature during deposition, ensuring the best possible bumps with small grain size, excellent sheer strength, high aspect ratio and good lift-off properties. #QuantumComputing #SuperconductingCavities #IndiumBumpBonding #PVDTools #KurtJLesker #ResearchInnovation Reproduced from [Chan U Lei, Lev Krayzman, Suhas Ganjam, Luigi Frunzio, Robert J. This is a specialist vacuum chamber we manufactured for Applied Microengineering Ltd (AML), based at Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire. AML manufacture wafer aligning and bonding equipment for demanding applications in the semiconductor industry, and supply systems to a global market. The chamber is at the heart of AML’s ‘ROCK’ aligner-bonder and must meet stringent technical and high-vacuum specifications including a multitude of ports, polished internal surfaces and the capability for operation in the ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) 10-8mbar range. #enablingtechnologyforabetterworld
