Kūlia College Pathways

For too many students in Hawai’i, access to higher education is an uphill battle. Our state ranks among the lowest in the nation for college readiness, with only 50% of public school graduates enrolling in college—well below the national average of 66%. Hawaii’s chronic underfunding for public education leaves many talented local students unaware of and unprepared for higher education opportunities. Kūlia College Pathways was founded to address this stark reality. At Kūlia, we’re creating a pipeline to success—by Hawai’i students, for Hawai’i students. We hope to demystify the college admissions process for Hawai’i public high school students, helping them make informed decisions that align with their aspirations through (1) 1:1 peer mentorship, (2) professional workshops, and (3) tailored resources. Our program is powered by a diverse team of volunteer-mentors—Hawai‘i high school graduates excelling at colleges nationwide, including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, Columbia University, and University of Hawai‘i System. Our mentors offer free, personalized guidance on: ? Navigating the Common Application ? Identifying scholarship opportunities ? Exploring academic programs and internships ? Preparing for standardized tests (SAT/ACT) ? Understanding financial aid options (FAFSA & CSS Profile) ?
