Public media stations KMOS PBS (Missouri), PBS Fort Wayne (Indiana), and KTOO Public Media and Kodiak Public Broadcasting/KMXT Radio, Kodiak, Alaska-FM (both Alaska), have been awarded a total of up to $1.37 million from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to upgrade their equipment to provide enhanced emergency alerting. CPB has awarded 17 grants to date through the first round of funding for the Next Generation Warning System (NGWS) grant program, funded by the FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency. https://lnkd.in/esjY6cMW

Wow, wow, wow! I came home to Juneau this week with my first national award for media in tow. Salamat po Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) for recognizing my work to cover Filipinos in Alaska. I am grateful to be uplifting my community through Mana and KTOO, and I am honored to be named AAJA's Emerging Journalist of the Year — local media and Alaska represent ????
