Another chapter down in our monthly bi-coastal executive series - and what a great time we had at Crown Shy in New York last night! As annual planning kicks off, it's clear from the leaders in the room that retention will be the north star priority for subscription businesses in 2025. It's a pleasure to see so many leaders clearly embracing the importance of understanding and mitigating payment failure as a primary driver of retention - and retention as a primary driver of growth. We're proud to have moved the market on this over the last several years building out Butter Payments - and we'll continue to meet the market where it's at. As always, the energy was off the charts and the dinner was delicious, so I'd first like to thank the organizers for curating another incredible event and somehow raising an already skyscraping bar. Foremost to Carol for the countless hours of work behind the scenes that went into planning and organizing a seamless event. Next to KTG and Atomic for helping to bring together everyone (special shout out to Marian Pond - we're so sorry to have missed you but thank you!). And last but not least to our amazing attendees - Ivy, Enu, George, Vadim, Timothy great seeing you all again; Adam, Minji, Megan, Mary, Emina, Patrick, Jeremy, and so many more that unfortunately I can't name because I'm at my tag limit ... I had such a great time getting to meet all of you incredible folks. Here are some photos ... we'll be back to NY for another CFO meetup next month with our friends from JPMorganChase!

Great to be at Hunt Scanlon Media PE/VC Talent Summit in SF this week. Grateful for the thoughtful panel discussions and candid conversations - it’s always valuable to compare notes with other search firms and talent partners on what's working (and what isn't) in delivering an effective search process and building diverse talent pipelines. Always a pleasure seeing everyone in person! Marian Pond, Carolyn Carpeneti, Atli Thorkelsson, Elyssa Pedote, Kris Snodgrass, Megan Healy, Kelly Pike, Edward Koller III, Jenny Kang A few key takeaways from across the market. -- Seeing an uptick in GTM leadership needs, particularly Chief Commercial Officer, CMO, and CRO roles as portfolio companies double down on growth initiatives and market expansion -- While CEO movement has been relatively stable, we're noticing increased demand for transformational leaders who can navigate the current market dynamics -- CFO searches continue to dominate - VC and PE firms are prioritizing financial leadership that can drive both operational efficiency and strategic growth Q4 has brought renewed focus on leaders with proven track records of scaling efficiently in similar market conditions -- There is an increasing focus on quantitative and qualitative leadership assessments throughout the search process - this shift from early-stage testing to deeper evaluation of finalist candidates is proving more effective for both firms and candidates
