Successful Conclusion of the 2024 Korean Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (KSCPT) Fall Conference The 2024 Fall Conference of KSCPT, chaired by Dr. In-Jin Jang, was successfully held from November 14 to 16 in Gwangju. With “Live Biotherapeutic Products” and “ICT in Clinical Trials” as central themes, the conference highlighted the latest trends and future directions in clinical pharmacology. Over 300 experts participated, fostering academic exchange and collaboration. Companies such as GCCL(Global Clinical Central Lab), C&R Research, Inc, DreamCIS, InHandPlus, EONE Laboratories, and ABSciex Korea showcased their interest by actively engaging in the event through exhibition booths. On the first day, Dr. Shin-Hyuk Lim of POSTECH and CEO of ?????? delivered a plenary lecture titled “Current Status and Development of Microbiome Therapeutics,” capturing the audience's attention. The Live Biotherapeutic Products session delved into the status of microbiome drug development and key considerations for clinical and preclinical trials. Meanwhile, the ICT in Clinical Trials session explored the integration of ICT technologies in clinical trial design and the potential application of real-world data, alongside an introduction to the National Clinical Trial Support Foundation’s Smart Clinical Trial Technology Development Project. On the second day, the Innovative Sites for Early Phase Clinical Trials session featured representatives from early-phase clinical trial centers in Korea, Japan, and China, presenting insights on the current state and prospects of early-phase trials in their respective countries. The Voice from the Clinical Trial Field session brought together experts from subject recruitment, SMOs, CROs, and clinical trial sites to share practical challenges and experiences. The Omics with Clinical Pharmacology session highlighted recent advances in pharmacometabolomics and pharmacoproteomics research, while the GCP Updates session provided an in-depth discussion on the latest updates to clinical trial guidelines. Prior to the main conference, on November 13, a workshop tailored for new drug development professionals and clinical pharmacology trainees was held. With topics such as Exploring Anticancer Drugs, Data Management, CDISC Standards, and Clinical Pharmacology for Beginners, the workshop attracted 97 participants, strengthening their practical skills. At the General Assembly on November 14, a special ceremony commemorated the establishment of the KSCPT as an incorporated association. Dr. Han-Lim Moon, CEO of MediRama Inc., and Professor Jang-Hee Hong of Chungnam National University College of Medicine were elected as the next President and Chairman of the Board, respectively. During the award ceremony, Professor Kyun-Seop Bae of Asan Medical Center received the prestigious Woo-Chon Award for Outstanding Researcher, recognizing his significant academic contributions.
