On March 2, 2025 The Treasury Department announced that it will not enforce penalties related to the Corporate Transparency Act associated with the beneficial ownership information reporting rule under the existing regulatory deadlines for U.S. citizens or domestic companies or their beneficial owners. Instead, the focus will shift to foreign reporting companies only. This move aims to support American taxpayers and small businesses. ?? ?? Missouri’s new paid sick leave requirements are set to take effect on May 1, 2025 as part of Proposition A. If your organization has more than $500,000 in annual gross volume sales made or business done, you may be required to provide paid sick time to employees. Here’s what to know: ?? One hour of paid sick leave per 30 hours worked ?? Employers with fewer than 15 employees: Use can be limited to 40 hours per year ?? Employers with 15 or more employees: Use can be limited to 56 hours per year ?? Time can be used for health-related needs, school closures, and more ?? Employers with an existing paid leave policy that already meets the minimum requirements of the law need not provide additional paid sick time, but policies should be reviewed to ensure compliance A Missouri Supreme Court case and legislative activity may impact the law’s final implementation, but organizations should start preparing now.
