关于我们

Kove, founded in 2003, is the leading software provider of products and services that enable enterprises to reach their fullest potential. Kove has worked with clients across a variety of industry verticals from financial services and life sciences to energy and defense, built on a long history of solving seemingly unsolvable technological problems. Kove offers the world’s first patented and mature software-defined memory solution — Kove:SDM?. This SDM breakthrough technology allows individual servers to draw from a common memory pool so each job receives exactly the memory it needs, when it needs it. Enterprises can now enjoy smarter AI and machine learning, faster rendering and number crunching, more powerful analytics, and the ability to put data center performance where it was never thought possible. SDM is also offered in a hardware-software memory solution — the Kove:SDM? Memory Tower — which enables unlimited scaling across the data center with no physical limit. Together, Kove:SDM? and the Kove:SDM? Memory Tower allows enterprises and their leaders to achieve more by maximizing the performance of their people and infrastructure. “Is software-defined memory the answer to AI bandwidth bottlenecks?” Short answer: Yes. To learn more, read the latest EE Times | Electronic Engineering Times article on the Kove:SDM? Memory Tower. In it, our own John Overton discusses how this breakthrough technology is completely changing the way enterprises think about memory by making it useable and shareable across the data center. Created in collaboration with Viking Enterprise Solutions (a product division of Sanmina), Red Hat, and Computacenter, the Kove:SDM? Memory Tower is “essentially plug and play, and the culmination of [Kove’s] focus on software-defined memory (SDM) over the past decade.” Read the full feature here: https://bit.ly/404gnAW

Interesting point on highlighting the term “memory wall.” It’s certainly more recognizable in the chip design and hardware architecture circles but outside of “silicon business”?????? most IT people simply refer to it as “memory latency issues” or “data access bottlenecks.” Either way, the challenge remains the same which is the gulf between CPU processing speed and main #memory responsiveness. Why It Matters 1. Virtualizing Memory for Full Utilization By pooling and sharing memory resources, #virtualization ensures you make full use of the servers and memory you purchase. This can significantly reduce the overall number of servers needed cutting both capital and operational costs in the data center. 2. Parallelism vs. Latency With more and more cores into every chip and expand pipelines, the data demand intensifies. If memory can’t feed these cores fast enough, parallelism won’t translate into real-world speedups. 3. #Energy and Complexity Building massive caches and sophisticated memory hierarchies is one way to offset the CPU-memory gap, but it also increases energy consumption and design complexity. A genuine #breakthrough in closing or overcoming the memory wall has the potential to unlock significant competitive advantage from driving large-scale data processing and AI/ML innovations faster, to enabling real-time analytics at unprecedented scales. For any organization deeply invested in compute-intensive workloads, solving this challenge can be a decisive game-changer. #HPC #DataCenter
