Kosmos Energy just released its latest 4Q earnings and full-year results.? ? Some of the highlights:? - 2P reserves grew year-on-year to ~530 million barrels of oil equivalent, representing a reserve replacement ratio of ~137% and a 22-year reserves-to-production ratio?? - First gas production at the GTA project at the end of 2024, with first LNG production achieved in early February 2025 - First oil achieved at Winterfell in summer of 2024? - Enhanced our financial resilience through raising a total of $900 million new bonds and refinancing our RBL facility?? - 2025 capex is expected to be $400 million or below, a greater than 50% reduction from last year? ? Production continues to increase as new projects ramp up, and Kosmos has the reserve base to support this production growth well into the future. As we run the business in 2025, we will rigorously manage costs to prioritize free cash flow, with material reductions planned in both capex and overhead. We plan to use cash generated to reduce our absolute debt and leverage, enhancing the financial resilience of the company. ? Andy Inglis, Kosmos Energy Chairman and CEO, shares his remarks on our full-year financial performance and what we can expect from Kosmos as we head into 2025:

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Kosmos Energy

Today Kosmos Energy released its 4Q and full-year 2024 financial results allowing us to reflect on our operational and financial progress last year. In 2022, we set a goal to materially grow production from several key projects across our portfolio. 2024 was a year of delivering on those projects, with continued 2P reserve growth and production now increasing as the projects ramp up. With the end of this highly capital-intensive period, the company will now prioritize the generation of free cash flow and disciplined capital investment. Our forecast 2025 capex budget is more than 50% lower than in recent years. Operationally, I was pleased to see first gas production at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project at the end of 2024, followed earlier this month by first LNG production -- two significant milestones for the project, its partners, and the governments and people of Mauritania and Senegal. Once fully ramped up, GTA will provide Kosmos with a new and steady long-term revenue stream. ? Looking ahead, 2025 will be another important year for Kosmos and our aims are clear: growing production and prioritizing sustainable cash generation. The foundations are in place to deliver on these goals, with new projects coming online, the reserves to support increased production, and an attractive portfolio of growth opportunities to pursue in the future. It is great to see our esteemed partner His Excellency Mohamed Ould Khaled, the Minister of Energy and Petroleum for Mauritania, speaking positively on Sky News Arabia about the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project, which is now ramping up LNG production in anticipation of the first cargo. Phase 1 will establish GTA, located offshore Mauritania and Senegal, as an important LNG production hub in the Atlantic Basin. Watch the interview in full: https://lnkd.in/e8wkGpGr

On Tuesday, February 12, 2025, the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, conducted an interview with Sky News TV as part of its live economic program. During the interview, he discussed the most significant energy projects in Mauritania and the prospects for the sector's development. At the start of the interview, the Minister announced the date for the export of the first gas shipment from the "Great Tortue Ahmeyim” GTA Field. The following is a summary of the interview, organized by topic: Regarding the GTA gas project, its technical components, the phased development plan, and expected production: The Minister explained that GTA gas field is located about 120 kilometers off the coast, at a depth of 5,000 meters (referred to as Ultra Deep Offshore), with estimated reserves of around 20 trillion cubic feet of gas. Mauritania and Senegal signed a bilateral cooperation agreement for the field's exploitation in February 2018, and the final investment decision FID was taken in December 2018. The development of the field will occur in three phases. The first phase will produce 2.5 million tons of GNL annually, and its production will increase in the second and third phases to reach 10 million tons per year. As for the technical components of the first phase of the project: ????Deepwater subsea production system comprising 4 gas production wells allowing production and extracting gas from the reservoir, located 120 kilometers offshore. ????The FPSO platform for separating liquid petroleum from gas and exporting it, located 30 kilometers from the shore. ????The floating liquefaction platform, dock, and FLNG export? ????And facilities, situated 10 kilometers from the coast. The Minister further stated, "We are currently studying the development plan for the second phase, and we hope to begin detailed technical studies after selecting the most appropriate plan. Our goal is to accelerate production in the upcoming phases, with a target for 2030, while ensuring the local market's gas needs are met." Date for the first shipment and target markets: The first shipment will leave the project site for the international market by the end of this month. This marks a major milestone in the project's development, representing the culmination of extensive work and, thankfully, its success. For Mauritanians, this signifies the opening of new and promising opportunities in the gas industry. The primary markets for the gas produced will be European and Asian markets. However, the final destination will depend on the balance between demand and price. Second part of the interview will follow with next post

Today marks another milestone for our Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project: first liquified natural gas (LNG) production has been achieved, the next step in the development of Mauritania and Senegal’s significant deepwater gas resources. ? Gas has now been delivered to the floating LNG vessel and liquefaction has commenced. Once fully commissioned, GTA Phase 1 is expected to produce around 2.3 million tonnes of LNG per annum (mtpa) with the floating LNG vessel nameplate capacity of approximately 2.7 mtpa. Some of the gas will be allocated to help meet growing energy demand in Mauritania and Senegal.? ? This project forms a critical part of the just energy transition. Having already generated thousands of local jobs and engaged hundreds of local companies across Mauritania and Senegal, GTA will bring new sources of low cost, lower carbon gas into production for export and domestic use. The project will position Mauritania and Senegal as a strategic LNG export hub and help these host countries transition toward more affordable, secure and cleaner energy – driving economic growth and job creation. ? Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Kosmos Energy

With the right environment, investments and financing, Africa has the potential to be a global gas powerhouse, strengthening energy security domestically and around the world. To realize this ambition, Africa’s gas must be harnessed at home to deliver reliable and affordable energy to the 745 million people still living without dependable access. At AEC African Energy Week in Cape Town last week, organized by African Energy Chamber, I had the privilege to speak about the future of energy in Africa, the critical elements for developing its world-class gas resources quickly and sustainably, and the role countries and companies like Kosmos Energy can play in helping Africa shape its own energy destiny and reach its full potential. To achieve this, we must transform the way we pursue development projects and partnerships. We need to be open to new partnerships between players with distinctive expertise and experience - built on collaboration, transparency, and a shared agenda. When we get this collaboration right, projects move faster and with greater urgency. Africa’s energy security can only be decided by Africans. That has been my firm belief since Kosmos began operating on the continent 20 years ago. In addition, Africa’s energy transition must drive economic growth and meet energy demand. At Kosmos, we are committed to being the best possible partners to help achieve this vision. Thank you to Khady Dior Ndiaye, Mike Anderson, and Todd Niebruegge for representing Kosmos and driving forward these critical conversations. Proud of Kosmos Energy’s continued leadership in supporting Africa’s energy transition. #AfricanEnergyWeek
