Spent a day with an amazing client team in Desaru, using Lumina Spark to help them better understand themselves and each other. Sometimes, stepping away from the office, screens, and online meetings to a new environment makes all the difference. Taking time to connect, unwind, and truly get to know each other isn’t just a break—it’s an investment. When companies create space for their teams to step back, reflect, and bond, they’re building stronger collaboration, trust, and engagement. A well-connected team doesn’t just work better together—they thrive. ????Bringing Two Worlds Together: Parents & Children Play the 2030 SDGs Game at English Schools Foundation Quarry Bay School???? For the past 4 years, we’ve had the privilege of running the?2030 SDGs Game?with Year 6 students at?Quarry Bay School. However, this year, we decided to do something different — we brought?parents and children?together to play the game side by side! ?? The setup was simple but symbolic: two worlds — one for the children and one for the parents. (And no, we won’t comment on how?competitive?the parents might have been! ??) This initiative offered parents a unique glimpse into what their children are learning at school while creating a shared experience they could both cherish. It also provided a platform for?shared experiences and meaningful conversationsthat parents and children can continue beyond the game. ?? The game started just like the real world — with both “worlds” struggling to thrive. In Part 2, the?Possible World, parents brought strategies, plans, and structure, while children used their creativity and sometimes “messy” approaches to problem-solving. ?? The RESULT ? Despite their different styles,?both worlds ended up saving the planet together. It was a beautiful reminder that every perspective matters and that collaboration — no matter how different the approaches — is the key to creating a better future. ?? We’re incredibly proud of this initiative and the connections it fostered. Seeing parents and children at?Quarry Bay School?work together towards the Sustainable Development Goals was truly inspiring. What are your thoughts on involving families in experiential learning? Let us know in the comments! I took out the trash and felt connected to the world. ??? We are staying at my son’s apartment in Taipei ????, as part of our 2-week Xmas/NY holiday ???? in Taiwan. Last night, I participated in the nightly rubbish recycling ceremony that happens all across Taiwan. ???? For more than 30 years, Taiwan has run a comprehensive recycling program at the community level. Every home separates ALL their rubbish, then brings it down to the trucks at a designated time. ?? For my son and me, it was 10pm. This is where you meet your neighbours ????????, each carrying bags of separated rubbish to the trucks. ?? Here’s what I saw: ? Businesses with separate bags for plastic and bottles ???? ? Kids with their parents, handing rubbish to workers ?? ? Elderly couples catching up with neighbours ???? ? A community united in a daily ritual ?? More than 20 years ago, when I first experienced this, I was misled by the ice cream truck music ???? that rubbish trucks in Taiwan play. Coins in hand, I ran downstairs, hoping to buy ice cream for my girlfriend (now wife!) and her family, only to discover … a rubbish truck! ???? Now, the same sound that once promised ice cream brings a different kind of joy: recycling. ??? Here’s what I’ve learned from Taiwan’s recycling program: 1?? Quality time with my son, catching up on his day ???? 2?? Thinking twice about packaging and waste ?? 3?? A visible, tangible reminder of my impact ??? 4?? A sense of community and shared responsibility ?? 5?? Recycling as a family activity, woven into our daily lives ???????? 6?? Small actions add up—they’re measurable and meaningful ? Taiwan’s slogan 30 years ago was, “Rubbish will not touch the ground.” Today, you won’t find rubbish bins on Taipei’s streets, and everyone takes their rubbish home. ?? Even better, many people carry their own flasks for drinks instead of using disposables. ? To top it off, you have to buy official rubbish bags ??, which aren’t cheap—so everyone thinks twice about waste. ?? What an inspiring system, combining sustainability, community, and everyday mindfulness! ???? #Taiwan #Recycling #Sustainability #GreenLiving #CommunityConnection #WasteNot #EcoFriendly #TravelMoments #LessonsInLife #ReduceReuseRecycle

Facilitation is a powerful skill that everyone should have in their toolkit! ?? Whether in meetings, project planning, or group discussions, strong facilitation skills help bring people together, foster open communication, and drive effective outcomes. A good facilitator ensures that every voice is heard and that teams stay aligned, which boosts productivity and collaboration. In today’s fast-paced work environment, knowing how to guide conversations without steering the content is invaluable for creating a more cohesive, productive team. ?? ???? What is Facilitation? Facilitation helps groups align and collaborate by guiding the process rather than influencing the content. A facilitator stays neutral, ensuring every voice is heard and keeping discussions clear and focused. ???? ????What Makes Finnish Facilitation Unique? Rooted in Finnish culture, it’s all about simplicity and efficiency. Finnish facilitation streamlines processes, making them practical and impactful, with a strong focus on structured decision-making. ?
