We are pleased to announce the kickoff of the Cape Flattery School District Progressive Design-Build project for the Neah Bay K-12 Campus. Our collaborative team, consisting of Korsmo Construction, TCF Architecture, and Formline Architecture + Urbanism, is dedicated to creating a space that honors and reflects the Makah Tribal culture and their community. This event featured engaging meetings and interactive sessions that established a strong foundation for this important project. Our group also toured the Makah Cultural & Research Center Museum deepening our understanding of the rich history and traditions.?We look forward to sharing updates as we progress, ensuring that the community's voice remains central to our work. Korsmo Project Manager Doug Baker specializes in design-build healthcare and residential behavioral health facilities. He currently leads the team at Korsmo's Residential Treatment Facility North (RTFN) project in Stanwood, providing 16 much-needed beds for critical inpatient treatments north of Seattle. We are thrilled to provide an update on the progress of the Nisqually Healing Center project! This two-story, 22,000-square-foot new construction project will serve as an outpatient medical facility for addiction recovery, primary care for medical, dental, and counseling services, and a child watch center. Working with Korsmo Construction as the General Contractor, Auburn Mechanical has been hard at work on the project. We are in the final stages of plumbing, refer, and sheet metal rough-in, with rooftop equipment already set in place. We are excited to see the Nisqually Healing Center come to life and provide essential services to the community.

Exciting baseball and fastpitch updates across Central Tacoma! Construction is progressing at both Peck Athletic Complex and Hilltop Heritage Middle School baseball and fastpitch fields. Turf is being installed, and work on lights, dugouts, street improvements and fencing continues. These new fields will serve as home for Stadium High's baseball and fastpitch teams, as well as community soccer and lacrosse leagues. Both fields will benefit Stadium High and Hilltop Heritage fastpitch and baseball teams. Construction is expected to wrap up this winter in time for Stadium baseball and fastpitch spring season. It's been a busy summer, but we couldn't forget to share finished photos of our Emergency Food Network pre-engineered metal warehouse project with BCRA, Danard Electric Inc, and CHG Building Systems Inc. EFN Greens fills a critical gap for many Tacomans and we were proud to help engineer cost-saving solutions to help them do even more for Pierce County. #KorsmoInTheCommunity
We're thrilled to share a glimpse of the new warehouse we designed for the Emergency Food Network (EFN). Guided by the inspiration that "every dollar saved is two meals for a community member," our goal was to creatively maximize the buildable volume of space for food storage—not just horizontally, but vertically, within the constraints of the code. Through our strong partnership with EFN and Korsmo Construction, we worked together to reduce construction costs by 30% without sacrificing any critical food storage or processing areas. This project is a testament to what collaboration and innovative design can achieve for the community. Seismic preparedness is a priority in new construction across Washington State, particularly so with coastal K-12 schools. We are honored to partner with the Cape Flattery School District, Makah Tribal Council Office, TCF Architecture, PLLC, Formline Architecture + Urbanism, and JSM Constructors through a progressive design-build process to relocate the Neah Bay K-12 schools to a single, consolidated K-12 campus further upland and away from the tsunami induction zone. ? Late last month, our Korsmo+TCF team attended Makah Days to meet community members, including students and their families. We look forward to starting this project soon!
