Whistle Stop Park honors Redding’s long-standing connection to the California and Oregon Railroad. The 2-acre park has been designed as a mixed-use property in the transformation of a 1600-square-foot urban area known as Block 7. The park is centrally located, featuring a permanent stage and central location, a performance kiosk, lawn, and seating options, abundant shade, and a cooling mist garden to create a refreshing microclimate oasis for guests. The Block 7 transformation project is a joint effort by The McConnell Foundation, K2 Development, and The City of Redding and was created through the design collaboration of OLIN, Modus Studio, DMARCstudio, Modern Building, CMS, and Koolfog for the fog feature. #fogeffects
