Building the future of defence mobility in Europe Running from 2023 to 2026, FAMOUS2 is an ambitious initiative led by Patria in collaboration with 19 companies across eight countries, aiming to create modular, environmentally friendly, and highly capable armoured vehicles. As a key partner in FAMOUS2, our business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace hosted a three-day event, bringing together 110 representatives from 18 leading European defence companies and officials from six Ministries of Defence. “The key is ensuring clarity on requirements, effective communication, and a shared understanding,” says Juha L?hteenm?ki, Director of Technology at Patria. “At the same time, this diversity is also a great advantage. It strengthens cooperation, builds unique relationships, and allows us to harness each other’s strengths while working towards a common goal.” FAMOUS programme European Defence Fund #FAMOUS2 #DefenceIndustry #Collaboration

We prepare to launch our first-ever microsatellite ARVAKER I, the first of three initial microsatellites in the N3X constellation, is set to launch on SpaceX’s Transporter-13 mission (NET March). The satellite will enable rapid identification of vessels engaged in environmental crime, illegal fishing, smuggling, and other unlawful activities while supporting the search and rescue of ships in distress. The delivery of maritime satellite data will enhance our total offering in the maritime domain awareness value chain. Built by our subsidiary Kongsberg NanoAvionics, the satellite will strengthen global maritime security. ARVAKER I is the 1st of 3 initial microsatellites in the N3X constellation - Norway’s first satellite constellation. Through a combination in-house capability in our business area Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and subsidiaries, we cover the full value chain to offer the next generation satellite services. The satellite constellation, named N3X, is the first in a series of satellites that KONGSBERG plans to build and operate – optimized to provide the best possible data sets for the users. The satellites will have excess capability outside Norwegian Areas of Interest that will be available for international users. The three satellites will be produced by Kongsberg NanoAvionics and equipped with Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers and detector systems, delivered by our business area Kongsberg Discovery. #maritimesurveillance #surveillance #satellite

In just 48 hours, it surveyed 36 square nautical miles, collecting data with exceptional precision. Earlier, our business area Kongsberg Discovery announced a major milestone in autonomous underwater technology—the successful completion of a multi-week, fully autonomous mission by HUGIN Endurance. This achievement reinforced its position as the most capable AUV platform on the market, proving its readiness for real-world deployment. During the mission, HUGIN Endurance operated entirely independently, receiving only one final navigation update 10 hours into the dive. It navigated depths from 50m to 3,400m, covering an impressive 1,200 nautical miles without external navigation aiding. Even more remarkably, it returned with a position error of just 0.02% of the total distance traveled, demonstrating unprecedented accuracy. If you missed this news, consider this a reminder of what’s possible when cutting-edge technology meets real-world execution. ?? Where do you see the biggest opportunities for AUVs in the coming years? #AUV #Autonomy #technology

A greener solution for Busan Port In a busy South Korean shipping hub known for its poor air quality, our business area Kongsberg Maritime has supplied a hybrid-electric propulsion system for a new tug – another step in the right direction to protect the planet. Busan Port, located on the southeastern coast of South Korea, is a major international shipping hub. The port handles a wide range of marine traffic, including container ships, bulk carriers, tankers and Ro-Ro vessels. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of ultra-large container ships calling at the port, driven by the growth of global trade.
