When you were a kid, what did you think your parents did for a job? ??♀?????♂??????????????????? We had an amazing time today at our Children’s Day at Work event at our KONE sites in Hyvink?? and Espoo, Finland! Our colleagues’ children got a glimpse into the grown-ups’ world while the adults had a chance to hear fresh ideas from the younger generation. But it wasn’t all work! The kids were eager to get to ride in the elevators and try the child-friendly menu at the cafeteria (a hit with both children and adults). They also participated in special holiday season handicrafts, a group of lucky raffle winners joined a tour of our Hyvink?? showroom, and at the KONE Building the children got to design their own elevators of the future! Among them was one made of candy, a Christmas-themed elevator with a tree in it, and a massage elevator for mum because – as the child said – “she needs it”! ??????♀? We really took passion for collaboration to another level at our Hyvink?? site! ???????? A group of over 20 professors from Aalto University School of Engineering met our R&D team in Hyvink??, Finland today to see what happens in our R&D labs, as well as check the showroom and factory. During the visit, we explored hardware and software testing as well as KONE's advancements in remote monitoring and digital twin technology, and discussed the need for sustainable materials and the role of technology in supply chain processes. Our guests appreciated efficient use of robotics and green energy in manufacturing, highlighting KONE's pioneering leadership in elevator and building operations. “It’s inspiring to see how Aalto University, one of the leading universities in Europe, is making waves on a global scale, bringing together an internationally diverse community,” said our Head of R&D, Johannes Rastas after the visit. ??
