Kokosing is proud to share that the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant High Service Pump Station Improvements project won the Associated General Contractors of Ohio 2024 Build Ohio Award in the Industrial/Heavy category! Thank you to our JV partner, Mosser Companies, Inc., the project team, and to AGC Ohio for this honor. ?? Some background on the project ?? The Collins Park Water Treatment Plant was built in 1941 but hasn’t seen any major process overhauls since 1956. In 2012, the City of Toledo, Ohio launched a program to complete significant upgrades over 10 years. As part of this program, the Kokosing Mosser Joint Venture team completed removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of 4 pumps & 5 motors, installation of 1 new pump, refurbishment of the distribution valves, associated updates to the process equipment, and building renovations! ?? #KokosingIndustrial #MosserConstruction #ibuildthe419 #AGCOhio #BuildOhio #careersinconstruction #skilledtrades

This week is National Apprenticeship Week, and we wanted to shout out to those currently going through our career development programs! We are proud to provide many different pathways to a successful career in the construction industry. ?? Kokosing has three programs for all stages of development. 1?? Starting with our Internship Program, high school students can work in our various departments learning about our forming systems, tools, equipment, job site material, and most importantly, our safety culture. 2?? High-performing interns have the opportunity to be selected for our Elite Program. This program provides hands-on experience and industry exposure through job site visits as well as connections with our Foreman and Superintendents. 3?? Once graduated from high school, our apprentices have the opportunity to be selected for our Career Builder Program. This program provides continued development through mentorship and career guidance from our Workforce Development team. ?? We want to celebrate those in our apprenticeship programs, and we look forward to seeing all the great things you accomplish! Where it started ?? The final result! With KMI's growth, the Mansfield, OH mix design lab needed a 2,500 SF expansion! The added space will allow our team to be more efficient and help accommodate the additional testing equipment needed to meet our customers' specifications. ?? As our founder, Bill Burgett, once said, “As the Oak Tree grows, so grows Kokosing”. Last week, our Safety Team held a two-day training session to grow our Team Members knowledge as a Confined Space Competent Person! ?? There was a mix of classroom and hands-on training using our simulator! It has been a month since the devastating flooding following Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina and many other parts of the South. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those in The South working to rebuild from the destruction of hurricanes this hurricane season.
