Nearly 1 in 3 global citizens lack access to basic handwashing facilities, making them more susceptible to illness and disease. ??? ?? This #GlobalHandwashingDay, and always, we believe this number is unacceptable, and we’re taking action to CHANGE it. ? As part of our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (#WaSH) project efforts, we’re bringing KOHLER Cleanse (our no-plumbing, no-electricity handwashing solution from Innovation for Good by Kohler) and hand-hygiene education to places like the Villas del Parque community near our plant in Reynosa, Mexico. Here, basic tasks such as handwashing, dishwashing, cooking, and sanitation require using a bucket of water from a weekly tanker truck supply, which can easily become contaminated. ? Our Reynosa team worked with local community members to install KOHLER Cleanse facilities and host hand-hygiene education workshops at the school—improving sanitation for more than 350 residents. ? Thanks to Black Girls Golf and founder Tiffany Mack Fitzgerald for hosting their 2024 Executive Retreat in our very own Kohler, Wisconsin. In our second year as the host location, the event was once again coordinated in partnership with Kohler’s business resource group BLK Catalyst to support more opportunities for women and girls to learn, practice, and play golf. Fifty-five women from across the U.S. joined us for an incredible weekend of sunrise yoga, lessons and rounds of golf at Whistling Straits, networking, and a volunteer session assembling feminine hygiene kits for Milwaukee Project Homeless Connect. Keynote speaker Elandria Jackson Charles, MPA, Founder and Chief Joy Officer of Ayoka Partners in Philanthropy, rounded out the event by sharing her views on the urgency of joy and its importance in finding our purpose and peace.
