Joyce Chang is Chair of Global Research for J.P. Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank, a global leader in Banking, Markets and Investor Services. ? Gloria M Kim is a Managing Director and Global Head of Index Research and Co-Head of Global ESG Research at J.P. Morgan. Highlights: ? Since 1945, the S&P 500 has risen in all presidential terms except for three. ? The immediate risks after this election are trade conflicts and trade wars. ? Going forward, high interest rates could become the new normal. Due to high federal debt, the end of the rules-based global order, and active U.S. fiscal policy, real interest rates may rise. ? Global economic expansion is expected to remain flexible, but there will be significant differences between manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, as well as between countries. The growth in the U.S. GDP and consumer spending is notably higher compared to other countries. This session provided valuable insights into the potential post-election economic landscape, helping organizations and individuals navigate the complexities of the evolving global economy. The Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in USA (KOCHAM) is a private national nonprofit organization that serves and represents Korean business entities operating throughout the United States. It plays an active role in developing corporate diplomacy initiatives to build economic cooperation and promote closer relations between the general public and the business communities of Korea and the United States. Our mission is to fulfill a multifaceted role and support our members in enhancing their management capabilities. We actively engage in corporate diplomacy initiatives to build greater awareness and goodwill between our members and the U.S. government by representing and relaying the opinions to overcome business difficulties that may arise when doing businesses in the U.S. Additionally, we promote friendship and communication between our members and U.S. corporations, as well as local governments and public organizations. Key activities of KOCHAM are as follows: 1. Enhancing and developing the trade environment between Korea and the U.S. 2. Organizing corporate seminars & workshops on current issues 3. Providing economic & business information through publications 4. Hosting annual events for member companies' networking 5. Operating a Korean Educational Institute(??????) for the children of member company employees 6. Supporting the Korea-American community through a summer internship program KOCHAM will consistently do its best to improve the business environment of our member companies and contribute to economic development.
