Kobo on the ground: Canada Kobo’s Knowledge Transfer Specialist Alexander Mtembenuzeni recently delivered a virtual webinar for the Eastern Shore Citizen Science Coastal Monitoring Network (ESCOM) in Nova Scotia, Canada. A grassroots group of citizen scientists, ESCOM is using KoboToolbox to collect vital data on coastal erosion and the effects of climate change in rural communities along Nova Scotia’s north eastern coastline. Working in remote areas with limited internet connectivity, KoboCollect’s offline data collection capabilities have been crucial for the project. ?? To support ESCOM’s coastal protection efforts, Kobo provided a comprehensive introduction to data collection and management as well as tailored expert advice on leveraging KoboToolbox for coastal monitoring. This vital initiative by UN Women aims to advance workplace gender equality and help create meaningful job opportunities for women through data-informed decision-making. With support from our Partner Services team, UN Women is using KoboToolbox to streamline their monitoring systems and leverage real-time data to measure project impact. To track essential indicators for understanding women’s participation, inclusion, and mobility in the workforce, UN Women used KoboToolbox to collect crucial data from 150 private sector companies in 15 countries across the Middle East and North Africa. Designed in collaboration with Kobo, the new infographic shares key insights for advancing women’s economic empowerment.? ??
