Keeping it simple. I've observed a growing interest in leadership development programs. From historical figures like Dale Carnegie and Tom Hopkins to modern institutions like Harvard and Stanford, the spectrum of leadership philosophies can be overwhelming. To simplify, I've distilled 5 key leadership principles to help you focus on business without constant team buy-in: 1. Leaders lead from the Front, not the Back. 2. Listening is twice as important as speaking. 2 Ears and 1 Mouth. 3. Empathize and know your team. 4. Wise silence vs. foolish boasting. Wise leaders let the world guess what he or she knows, while the FOOL opens his/her mouth and lets the world know. 5. Show your team you care; knowledge comes second. They don't care what you know as much as they need to know you care. In Operations, remember: you can't manage what you can't measure. Good information in equals good information out. A Positive Mental Attitude fosters success in each team member and the Company as a whole. Keep it simple, find what works, and don't fix what isn't broken! Good luck.
