? As #PrincipalAppreciationMonth wraps up, Knox Education Foundation salutes all the principals in Knox County Schools!? Principals play a critical role in student success, and research shows that strong leadership is key to achieving great outcomes. That’s why KEF is committed to supporting principal leadership development and continuous learning, including initiatives like PIVOT: School Improvement Leaders. Through PIVOT: School Improvement Leaders, principals and assistant principals gain vital tools to help students make gains and build successful schools for all learners. ???? Thank you, principals, for your dedication and hard work!

Continuous learning is vital to the success of 865 Academies. KEF and KCS leaders visited Hampton, VA to collaborate with district leaders from across the country who are committed to transforming education through career-themed academies, preparing students for life beyond high school. This week, KCS Superintendent Jon Rysewyk, KCS Assistant Superintendent Keith Wilson, KEF President Mike Taylor, KEF Partner Engagement Officer Windy Clayton, KCS Executive Director of College & Career Readiness Shannon Jackson, and Director of Academies Dr. Brad Corum are representing #865Academies at the FORD NGL Superintendent and Leadership Circles.

?? Congratulations to the 2024 Fall Priority Based Grants Recipients! ?? KEF is awarding the next round of Priority Based Grants, aimed at enhancing college and career readiness, literacy, math, and STEM education in alignment with KCS’s four district priorities. These grants will fund innovative educational initiatives and pilot projects that support student academic success.

?? Last week we celebrated the completion of new playgrounds at Spring Hill Elementary School thanks to the Playspace Fund! ???? Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, over $1.4 million was raised to support 11 new playgrounds across seven schools for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
