Headway Neurology operates as a direct care (self pay) practice in order to improve access and scheduling flexibility and minimize overhead (providing a more personal experience, unfettered by corporate healthcare). Hi colleagues and friends - I made a concept map and timeline to show the spot in the timeline of a stroke survivor's journey when I can be most helpful in my work at the Advancing Stroke Recovery (ASR) program. Patients with #stroke are lucky if they receive care at a high quality stroke center during the hospitalization and in the immediate aftermath, but even then, most people only get to see a #Neurologist, ideally a #stroke neurologist, once. I hope to change that, at least for the patients I can reach and who can get to me. I am committed to longitudinal care - I think it's the best thing for stroke survivors who need more guidance to maximize their recovery.
