NYFW started out strong with Evanna C. debuting her knitwear collection "Android Odyssey" at the Artifice White Box hosted by Heavensgate NYC on September 7th. ? In this collection, Evanna brings about a visionary exploration at the crossroads of humanity and robotics. Drawing inspiration from the sleek elegance of robots, anime, and retrofuturism, this project boldly ventures into uncharted territories of design. ? With the use of different knitting techniques, Evanna intertwines elements of masculine spikes and robot-like armor with the delicate fragility of human beings, serving as a homage to individuals across ages, inviting them to contemplate the future and envision the potential evolution of their lives. ? One of Knitup's core is to bring about creativity and innovation, we believe in nurturing and sponsoring emerging designers is key to move fashion forward. ? Congratulations to Diego Tarabal, a talented recent graduate and winner from our University of Westminster x Knitup Design Competition on a successful runway show and MA collection launch,?HUG+. Diego has wowed us with his designs that were inspired by the Gay Culture of the 1970s and 1980s, then merging it with the concept of a hug. The HUG+ collection was created in homage to the people lost during the AIDS epidemic. Comprehensive, real-world fashion experience. From the conception of a design portfolio to the marketing of the knits via a social media campaign and complexities of launching the designs onto an online marketplace. This is the aim of the competition collaboration between London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London and knitwear manufacturer, Knitup. Entries received from the?BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Knit Year 3 students using the digital design platform were phenomenal. Our biggest appreciation to Carolyn Clewer for making this collaboration a success! “The LCF x Knitup Competition brief really wanted us to think about our customer, and how these garments would interact on the market.
