It would be great to see a pre-fab company truly succeed. Giving people a high quality, factory-built home option could fill in some gaps in the home construction market or even make a significant dent in the housing shortage. Prospective clients ask us about pre-fab options from time to time but we don’t have much good news for them. The very best report we’ve heard in the last 25 years is someone’s pre-fab house cost the same as typical construction, but was built 6 months faster. There are a lot of hidden costs to pre-fab (site work, foundation, delivery, installation, etc). But in the end you at least expect to get a house. Not so in this case.
