Adrian Smith (R-NE), Suzan DelBene (D-WA), and colleagues reintroduced the Maintaining and Enhancing Hydroelectricity and River Restoration Act to extend a 30% investment tax credit (ITC) for hydropower projects through 2031. This bill promotes dam safety, fish passage improvements, grid resilience, and river restoration—supporting both sustainable energy and environmental stewardship. With aging hydro infrastructure in need of upgrades, this legislation helps modernize facilities, remove outdated dams, and ensure long-term reliability.
