Last month, Kleinfelder’s Denver office hosted the Black Construction Group – a special interest group of the COLORADO BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE focused on providing business development, education, advocacy, and networking opportunities for its members. The meeting was an open house style event that was attended by 29 Kleinfelder staff members and 41 members of the community. It included networking opportunities and refreshments, along with a showcase of Kleinfelder’s capabilities, current projects, and teaming opportunities. Dr. Angelic Cole MBA Ed.D., President & CEO of the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce, said the event was a “great opportunity and example to show how corporate businesses can partner and work with our small, Black-owned businesses.” Kleinfelder EVP & Central Division Director Lisa Millet noted that the event was a great chance to meet potential teaming partners and expand business contacts while also sharing our vision around diversity, equity, and inclusion. “That’s a big part of our values at Kleinfelder, and it's really an important part of how we want to grow our business in the future.” Kleinfelder SVP & Infrastructure Lead Reza Akhavan, PE said it was great to reconnect with old friends while showing off the beautiful, central office in Downtown Denver. “We were able to showcase a lot of different skillsets and disciplines that Kleinfelder brings to the Colorado market, such as the capabilities of our full laboratory in nearby Golden, and let people know we are here to support them and their projects.” ?
