关于我们

Klarisana is one of the country’s most experienced providers of ketamine therapy. We opened our first clinic in San Antonio, Texas in 2015 and since then we have expanded to Austin as well as locations in Colorado and New Mexico. We offer cost-effective intramuscular ketamine therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and many forms of chronic pain. Our treatment philosophy is to proactively leverage the experiential (“psychedelic”) effect of ketamine to allow our patients to have a transformational experience. As part of our commitment to increasing access to this life-saving treatment, we are in network with Colorado and Texas Medicaid. We also participate with several private insurance companies. For many patients, there will be no out of pocket costs other than any applicable co-pays or deductible. Klarisana is on the cutting edge of ketamine treatment. In 2019 we published the results of an IRB approved study that looked at the treatment of combat veterans with PTSD using ketamine. “High-dose ketamine infusion for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder in combat veterans” Ross et al, Annals of Clinical Psychiatry, 2019 Nov;31(4):271-279. In this study we showed a 93% response rate to ketamine therapy with a significant improvement in depressive and PTSD symptomatology. At our centers, patients are treated in a private setting with all appropriate monitoring and personalized treatment plans. We offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy at our Colorado locations and will be rolling this service out in our Texas locations in the near future.

Another category of patient who does not generally do well with ketamine therapy is the person who is a poly-substance abuser. Now what I mean by this is somebody who really enjoys using just about any substance they can possibly get their hands on. These are the folks who list multiple substances from multiple different classes. Ketamine can work very effectively for alcoholism, opiate addiction and benzodiazepine addiction. In fact, I would predict in the coming years that ketamine and other psychedelics will revolutionize the field of substance abuse treatment. This is a very different situation however. The patients, who report using a wide variety of substances from almost every imaginable class don't do well with ketamine therapy. In my experience, most of them are presenting in order to get Ketamine in an easier and legal fashion. If you or a loved one fall into this category, I would recommend first seeking help from a qualified substance abuse treatment center before considering ketamine therapy. If you are looking to get your loved one treated with ketamine and they fall into this category please ask the center if they specialize in the treatment of complex polysubstance use disorder. If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. I deployed four times in support of the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. In my experience, mean people don't do well with Ketamine therapy. Now, when I use the word “mean,” this is very different than the word “angry.” Anger commonly accompanies, PTSD and a history of psychological trauma. Anger we can work with… Anger in my opinion is the “smoke” and not the “fire.” If we treat the underlying PTSD with Ketamine, this can have a dramatic improvement on a person's anger. When I say someone who is “mean” what I am referring to is folks who are downright sociopaths. This is the person who truly has no consideration for the well-being of other human beings or animals. My suspicion is that if this shoe fits, you're probably not gonna be watching this video in the first place. If you are the friend or loved one of someone who has this trait, please be advised that this is challenging. People who truly just have no regard for the welfare of others can be tough to fix. If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. This is one of the saddest reasons to fail…because you want to. Thankfully it is rare but I have definitely seen some people who really enjoy playing the role of the patient. Oftentimes they are enabled by a spouse, partner, and/or family. They get a tremendous amount of attention from those around them due to the fact they have “A Diagnosis.” It is baffling and heartbreaking to see a patient start to make some real progress and then stop ketamine when they realize that it may actually make them feel better. These folks definitely need intense integration work with a trained therapist…but they can be a tough nut to crack. If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. One thing I have seen over the years is the power of money to destroy a person’s life. I mentioned in my last video in this series how a huge ego can adversely affect a person's likelihood of success with ketamine therapy. Financial abundance, unfortunately can act like gasoline on a fire to make that even worse. There's nothing inherently wrong with money by itself… It's just that in some people financial abundance can be confused with importance. This is one thing I've seen many times over the years is that people start interpreting their financial success as a sign that they are better than other people. When we're trying to change a person's behavior…many times related to substance misuse…especially alcohol… Having tremendous financial firepower can make it very easy for someone to fall back into self-destructive patterns of behavior. Changing one's self talk and removing limiting beliefs can be amazingly powerful. The challenge is to have an accurate understanding, though the role the money plays. If financial abundance causes you to start having an overinflated Sense of self-worth this can make it very challenging to succeed with ketamine therapy. Many of my patients who have succeeded with ketamine therapy, develop an understanding of oneness and connectedness with the world and other people…Smug feelings of con descendants and superiority cause you to vibrate at a very low vibrational state and can adversely affect your chances of success with Ketamine. #ketamine #ptsd #depression #psychedelicmedicine #personaldevelopment Klarisana - Ketamine Therapy & Mental Health Clinics If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. Hi everybody October 6-12, 2024 is Mental Illness Awareness week. I wanna make a short video this morning sharing a little bit about my story and what the concept of “mental health awareness” means to me personally. This video is especially geared towards my healthcare colleagues. The practice of healthcare can be a real mental beat down. The trauma we sustain can be very insidious and VERY consistent. Wave after wave of negative interactions and negative energy bombard healthcare providers every day…and this takes a toll on our mental health . It certainly took a toll on me. In 2019 is when I finally was forced to address my own mental health issues head on. Hopefully this video and this week will inspire y'all to do something positive for your own mental health and get yourself squared away. If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. While we are using ketamine to treat depression, anxiety, and PTSD it is important to remember the importance of the mind-body connection with regards to mental health. It may sound simple but it is important to make sure that your physical health is optimized as you embark on your journey with ketamine therapy. Make sure your thyroid and other hormones are normal and optimized. Make sure you don’t have underlying diabetes or an electrolyte abnormality. If you have diabetes make sure you are controlling your blood glucose. Try as best you can to improve your diet…I will have a lot more to say in future videos on gut health but..sneak preview…your gut has a ton of serotonin receptors and plays a big role in your mental health. I realize that some of you may have challenging medical conditions that are chronic. Given your own personal context just try to optimize your physical health as much as possible to get the most out of your ketamine sessions. If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. This is the first of a series of videos where I talk about what traits and characteristics might lead somebody to fail ketamine therapy for behavioral health conditions. For many people, ketamine therapy could be a powerful treatment for severe depression, PTSD and other mental health conditions. Over the last nine years of providing ketamine therapy however, I have noticed some trends and traits in certain patients that will make them more likely to fail treatment…or at least not have as good of a response as they may hope for. This video is an introduction to the series. Stay tuned for the following videos we're going to detail about each of these factors. If you are new to my channel, my name is Carl Bonnett. There are still misconceptions about the safety of ketamine. Unfortunately sensational headlines such as the unfortunate situation with Matthew Perry continue to muddy the waters. Ketamine is a very safe medication…when used in an appropriate clinical setting. Just like you would not want me flying a helicopter (I don’t know how to fly)...you would not want to administer ketamine in a setting that is not appropriate. In this video I discuss a comment on one of Klarisana’s posts that made me facepalm. In case you are interested…I shot the cover image for this video on board the USS Decatur in the Persian Gulf back in 2012. Our pilots were doing deck qualifications. Today Adam and Carl discuss whether Spravato can be used to treat PTSD. What about patients who meet the criteria for Spravato treatment but also have PTSD? Spravato…also known as esketamine is the FDA-approved nasal spray version of ketamine. It is basically a concentrated formulation of ketamine where all the “R-ketamine” has been filtered out. It is indicated for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation. This is the fourth of a four part series talking about Spravato.
