关于我们

With more than 550 members, the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham is the largest Kiwanis in the world and one of the oldest civic service organizations in existence. The Club attracts professionals who are leaders in their respective professions, and influential men and women not just in the local community but throughout the world. The talented membership offers the Club a wealth of talent to pour into its transformational projects impacting our community. With a focus on enhancing the diversity of the Club, members are actively recruiting minorities for future growth. As the cornerstone of Kiwanis International, the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham brings members together to discuss important topics of the day and address initiatives for the future. Through outreach programs focusing primarily on youth, members are called to do their highest work—providing for all children an ever-improving quality of life and securing for future generations unlimited opportunities for service. To commemorate its 100 years, the Club built Kiwanis Centennial Park and Kiwanis Vulcan Trail at Vulcan Park & Museum—a transformational project for Birmingham that is catalyzing positive civic change. Members are raising the $5.8 million for the expansion of the footprint of Vulcan to enhance the community’s urban revitalization and green space initiatives making Vulcan and Birmingham’s trail system a leading tourist attraction in the state. Other recent civic projects include the Giraffe exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo and Itty Bitty Magic City at McWane Science. A signature event of the Club is the Birmingham Business Hall of Fame. Members annually select business leaders who have exemplified strong leadership and made extraordinary contributions to the Greater Birmingham area to be inducted into the Birmingham Business Hall of Fame.

  • Vulcan now has hiking boots and a backpack! We hope you will join him on the Kiwanis Vulcan Trail for The Alabama Department of Tourism’s Year of Alabama Trails! This initiative kicked-off last week close to the Kiwanis Vulcan Trail, which serves as the backbone for trails in Birmingham, allowing Birmingham to be a better-connected community. Kiwanians build by serving, and we are proud of a long standing partnership with Vulcan Park and Museum. Kiwanis Vulcan Trail is a 2-mile jogging and biking trail that extends to Green Springs Highway given as a gift to our city and our families by our club in honor of our Centennial. It serves as the future hub for the planned 750 miles of Birmingham’s Red Rock Trail System. It’s the perfect place to share with friends and family and out of town visitors. Don’t miss the opportunity to see Vulcan’s new hiking boots and share the Kiwanis footprint during the Year of Alabama Trails! Vulcan Park and Museum
