Last week, select members of our team attended the @theouterbanksnc Tourism Summit, where the Visitors' Bureau staff spoke on their development of the Outer Banks Promise; a community wide initiative that encourages locals and tourists alike to make responsible choices that preserve and protect the OBX community. Together at our annual Marketing Meeting, the entirety of KHK management proudly made the Outer Banks Promise together going into our 51st year in 2025! As one of the leading enterprises on the Outer Banks, we're thrilled to take part in this wonderful commitment to our community?? ??

Early this week marked our Annual Marketing Meeting at College of The Albemarle! We had the pleasure of gathering together as a company to review our progress, celebrate our 50 years, and hear presentations from coworkers on their goals for 2025!??

It’s our 50th Season! ???And to celebrate, we’re starting our storytelling initiative where we will be sharing uplifting messages from friends, customers, and the community who have helped Kitty Hawk Kites soar into 50 years! In celebration of OBX Brewtag, Billy Vaughn who is our hang gliding school manager and Rogallo Foundation historian, tells us the Rogallo Story! OBX Brewtag fundraises for the non-profit Rogallo Foundation ( @rogallo.foundation ), which is devoted to sharing the flexible wing legacy of Francis and Gertrude Rogallo. Founder and CEO of Kitty Hawk Kites, John Harris, founded the organization as a passion project dedicated to honoring their tremendous work in the recreation and free flight aviation worlds. The foundation's current goal is to build a free flight Rogallo Museum here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the coming years.
