Profiling another partner here in WA State. Partners4Housing is a team of professionals who have been working with families of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) for over 20 years. They help families navigate the complex service agencies and secure housing for their loved ones. Their services are free for residents of WA State. There is a fee for their support in other states. A very big Thank You goes out to Legends Casino in Toppenish and their Yakima Cares program for their generous support. During their last funding round, they provided funds which allowed KIM to purchase emergency first aid kits as well as upgrade our training mannequins in Yakima and Kittitas counties. https://lnkd.in/gRurwuCw

Self Advocates in Leadership (SAIL) is a coalition of over 200 people with developmental disabilities interested in shaping public policy in Washington State.?SAIL is unique because the members of the coalition have developmental disabilities as well as the support staff.?People with disabilities can have a powerful voice in the legislature.?We have been gathering together to learn about how the legislative process works and then putting those skills to work on at least one bill each session since 2004.
