Over the past few weeks we have been inspired by the numerous Kitsap Credit Union members who have come together to change lives with donations to the KCUCares Foundation. Their donations help support initiatives that address hunger, homelessness, and financial wellness which Kitsap Credit Union and the KCUCares Foundation address in our community through monetary donations, volunteer hours, and more. We believe that through the Foundation, we can bring our community together and multiply our impact to make transformative change. Do you want to be part of this life-changing work? By being a member at Kitsap Credit Union you already support these initiatives, but you can take your support a step further by making a donation today. Amplify your impact in the community, make a donation today at https://lnkd.in/gshJYm6N.

You often hear us say "Together it's Possible" here at Kitsap Credit Union and that sentiment extends to the philanthropic work that the KCUCares Foundation does in our community around hunger, housing, and financial wellness initiatives. Last week, the KCUCares Foundation was proud to host it's annual Send Hunger Packing Backpack event, where 11 Backpack Feeding Programs in Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, and Jefferson counties received donations from the Foundation, totaling $66,000 to help provide nutrition assistance to students outside school hours. Over the next few weeks, we look forward to introducing several of the Backpack Feeding Programs that do this vital work. This week, meet the Bremerton Backpack Brigade. Established in 2010, they provide meals to students outside of school hours to help bridge the gap, making it easier to learn, stay healthy, and more. Last year, they sent home nearly 89,000 pounds of food, over 9,200 backpacks were sent home, and 295 families were fed. You can get involved with Bremerton Backpack Brigade by volunteering your time or making a donation today. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gxfBNg8.

At Kitsap Credit Union, we’re committed to supporting the financial success of those who have served in our armed forces, especially as they navigate the transition to civilian life. Transitioning from military to civilian life can present unique challenges, especially when it comes to managing competing financial priorities. Whether you're building an emergency fund, saving for retirement, or paying down debt, we’re here to help you stay on track. This Veteran Saves Week, use this list to help you prioritize your financial goals: 1?? Assess your current financial situation (income, benefits, and gaps). 2?? Identify short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals (emergency fund, debt repayment, retirement). 3?? Build a savings plan that works for you—even small steps can make a big difference. 4?? Use available veteran resources for financial guidance and support. We understand that the financial journey post-service can be daunting, but with a clear plan, you can achieve your goals.
