Last week, we had the privilege of hosting the latest event in our Summit Series, designed to empower and support small businesses in our community! Thanks to our incredible partners at the Greater Kitsap Chamber and Kitsap SBDC local entrepreneurs had the chance to gain valuable insights, network with peers, and learn more about resources available to help their businesses thrive. Last week, our Puyallup Meridian team came together for a cause that is near to our hearts and vital to our community. Together, they worked with Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tacoma to fill backpacks with food in support of Franklin Pierce Schools Backpack 4 Kids. With the highest rate of free and reduced lunch in Pierce county, this pantry and their backpack feeding program feeds 475 kids each week. Want to get involved? Our Kitsap Credit Union's CEO and President, Shawn Gilfedder, discussed the importance of empowering students with financial literacy as an investment in our future in an article published in The Kitsap Sun this week. Last year, we provided financial education to 21 schools across four counties, reaching 5,901 students.
