(Our website - https://lnkd.in/gv96Jmgc) For over 20 years, our beloved Christmas Angel program has brought joy to thousands of children and families in Kitsap County. Last year, thanks to the incredible support of our community, we made the season brighter for 407 families and over 1,000 children—and we’re ready to do it again! What We Do: From December 1st to 23rd, we open our Santa Shop, where families can come to pick up: 2 toys or 1 rideable 2 clothing items 1 blanket or stuffed animal 1 book 2 stocking stuffers Each child, from newborns to 18-year-olds, receives these gifts. We offer scheduled shopping times, ensuring families experience the dignity and respect they deserve—no waiting in long lines! Information for Families trying to Sign Up: Since 500 families have already registered for Christmas Angel 2024, we have created a waitlist! September-October Recap: Growth, Learning, and Connections - Business Education Support & Training in KITSAP COUNTY! During the September-October period, our team launched 2 Business Education courses in Kitsap County—one in English and one in Spanish! Around 30 Kitsap entrepreneurs are part of these courses that we launched simultaneously during the last week of September. The Business Education course conducted in English lasts 8 weeks, while the one in Spanish lasts 6 weeks. When we set out to start the Spanish Business Course, we recognized the growing need for business education in our community. Our commitment to supporting entrepreneurs led us to believe that this course would make a meaningful impact. We are thrilled to see that our community confirmed this need, with enthusiastic participation from 20 individuals in this second course, following a successful pilot we conducted in June. This response reinforces our belief in the mission to provide accessible education opportunities and empower aspiring business owners to achieve their goals. We also hosted some great networking events where we discussed the links between entrepreneurship, disability, and social security benefits. Additionally, we had a special session with Darrell Jenkins, the Vice President of Community and Business Banking at 1st Security Bank, who shared valuable tips on securing business loans. ???? Last Wednesday, our leadership team gathered at the beautiful Heronswood Gardens to discuss KCR's strategic planning and our goals for the next three years. This retreat was a wonderful opportunity for us to align our interdepartmental goals with the organization's mission to better serve our community.
