Tracking progress is not just a necessity but unavoidable in the world of special education. But let’s be real—it can feel overwhelming. Here are three quick tips to streamline your data collection process: 1?? For objective data - focus on one measurable goal at a time. Use visuals like graphs to see trends at a glance. 2?? Subjective data is as valid as objective data! You don't need to take objective data every session on every goal! Write down cues that worked/didn't work, what motivates a student, and ideas that you want to try in future instructional sessions. 3?? Dedicate 5-10 minutes daily to log updates—it’s easier than cramming later, plus - the info is fresh and therefore is more meaningful.? Your future self will thank you! :) ? Question: What’s your favorite data collection hack? Share with us below! #specialeducation #specialeducationteacher #schoolslp #schoolbasedot #schoolbasedpt #schoolslpa #schoolcota #schoolpta #iteachsped
