You’ll want to tune into this if you’re growing your newsletter 👇
Just a couple o' newsletter writers doing the ol' podcasting thing. We just passed 5k downloads + published our 14th episode. (And somehow our YT channel has 800+ subs 🤯) This is all super validating, and it's exciting seeing the numbers going up. But I think what I'm most proud of is our consistency: one episode per week every week since Dec 4th launch. Do we know what we're doing? Not really. Could we be doing this "better"? Most definitely. Are we having fun figuring it out? 1000%. I heard Khe Hy say this once:: "Don't compete with the person who is having fun and enjoying the process. 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 the person having fun and enjoying the process." It's been over 2 months since our launch, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying the process 😁 And I'm honored to be doing this alongside Chenell 🙌

I Transform Founders, Coaches & Corporate Leaders into Confident Presenters in WEEKS || Overcome Speaking Anxiety with a Coach Who Truly Understands Your Pain || Ex-Tesla
Took me 13 months (and 58 newsletters) to hit 1k subs.. And I learned 13 lessons: It was the first Sunday of 2024. I created my free profile on Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Few hours later... I was all set to write the very first issue of my newsletter to ZERO subscribers ;) It was HARD because I didn't know: - where to start - what to write - and whom to write to. BUT it was also easy because I knew no one was gonna read it or judge it haha.. It took me ~3-4 hours to "perfect" everything and then.. I hit the send button. BOOM!! But nothing really happend.. except I heard crickets 🦗🦗 Lottts of 'em.. for a few weeks… and months which I knew was okay because my content sucked 😅 But I kept going, week after week, month after month, and after 13 months, last week I hit 1000+ newsletter subs. 1000 subs is not a BIG number I know But… If you've ever built an email list organically.. ↳ You know it's NOT EASY. These insights helped me stay consistent and grow my list which might also help you to start and keep going: 1 - Believe in the Compound Effect 2 - Show up even if you don't feel like it 3 - Start today than waiting for the perfect time 4 - It's ok to struggle initially with newsletter ideas 5 - A well-rounded welcome sequence for onboarding 6 - Take the 1st step, your brain will take care of the rest 7 - EXPOSE secrets, deep dives you don't publicly share 8 - Recommendation on Kit (formerly ConvertKit) work 9 - Leverage personal storytelling to build connection 10 - One newsletter a week works well to sustain 11 - I wish I would have started way earlier 12 - Your content will stink initially 13 - Give value before asking Most insights are also applicable to posting on LinkedIn. ↳ What else do you wanna add to this list? ✅ Link to subscribe to my newsletter "Free Your Voice From Speaking Anxiety” is in the comment section. ♻️ REPOST if you found it valuable. 📌 P.S. Let's connect if you are also using Kit (formerly ConvertKit). - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆" The only newsletter you'll ever need to overcome the crippling fear of public speaking and gain the self-confidence you always desire. Look, I don't know how to code, but I was able to "write" custom CSS to change the layout of a Kit (formerly ConvertKit) form just by showing AI a few screenshots and asking questions. I recorded a simple 15 minute guide to show you exactly how to "code" these changes to your pages and forms (this will work for other tools too!) I can't upload that long of a video to LinkedIn, but if you comment "CSS" then I will DM a link to access it. 🎯 Find your target: Use the browser Inspect to locate and copy the CSS element you want to move. You can paste in the page's HTML to give it more context. 🤖 Ask AI for help: Paste that element into Claude or ChatGPT with a simple request like "Move this form to the top on mobile" 🧪 Test and tweak: Not quite right? Take a screenshot, show AI what's off, and ask for adjustments. Keep refining until it's what you want 🧑💻 Add the CSS: Paste the AI-generated code into Kit's custom CSS field and you're done! That's it! No more forms at the bottom of mobile pages. The best part? You don't need to understand a single line of CSS to make it work. Comment "CSS" and I'll send you a link to access the 15 minute video. It has everything you need to make simple custom changes to web pages. Or just follow the prompts in this post — have fun!

It’s not every day you find yourself between Tom Brady and Ramit Sethi… So, LinkedIn friends, I have to take a moment to celebrate and share!🙌 🥳 It was an awesome surprise to be part of Kit (formerly ConvertKit) featured creators. In February 2022, I launched my very first newsletter to a small group of just 34 friends. Truthfully? I had no idea what I was doing. Back then, I relied on sharing other people’s blogs, books, and ideas—curating content from the experts I admired. Why? Because I lacked the confidence to share my own ideas, knowledge and experiences. There were days I don't want to hit the publish button! 🫣 But at the start of 2024, I told myself: “Stop holding back, Ren. It’s time to step up.” Time to put 25 years of enterprise sales experience into actionable insights. I decided it was finally time to write from my own frameworks, insights and perspective. I cleaned up my email list, even though it meant losing some readers. I wanted to have readers who are engaged and love what I am writing. Since then, I’ve committed to weekly writing. I’ve shared strategies, frameworks, and tools to win mega deals. But now, I want to take it a step further. This year, I’m diving into storytelling. Raw, unfiltered, real stories—because that’s where growth happens. Here’s what you can expect: - Stories of winning big contracts - Losing accounts and the tough lessons learned along the way - Memorable “those where the days moments” , like flying to 10 European countries in 2 weeks—meeting clients and hosting executive roundtables And stories from my time at Globe Telecom, Alcatel-Lucent, Ruckus and Vodafone—great times (and rough ones). Writing from the heart is scary—but I'm determined to do it. Thank you, Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for giving me a platform to rediscover my love for writing, and to my readers—your support means everything. I'll keep on working and improving every newsletter. Your thoughtful messages, like “Thanks, Ren, I loved this week’s topic,” sharing your challenges and inspiring me to keep going. So, keep the questions coming, and let’s continue learning together. If you’d like to join the journey, join us here ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gppDatXE See you there! 💜

3 great ways to use Polls in your emails 👇
One of my favorite Kit (formerly ConvertKit) features? 📊 Polls! A lot of people think of polls as a fun engagement tool, but they can also be a powerhouse for segmentation, automation, and conversions. Here are three ways I’ve been using Kit’s poll feature: 1️⃣ Getting feedback without friction When I ran Kit for Beginners, I struggled to get “Why didn’t you buy?” responses -until I used a poll! A simple Yes/No triggered different Google Forms for deeper insights, and response rates shot up. 2️⃣ Qualifying interest (without the guesswork) In preparation for launching the second cohort of my group program this week, a PS in my newsletter asked: "Do you want to receive emails about the (Convert)Kit Accelerator?" A No tagged them so that they won't receive any of the promotional emails. A Yes triggered a secret link to the full offer AND an automated follow-up to assess tech readiness. 3️⃣ Smart segmentation for better targeting Today, I sent three broadcasts to three distinct segments of my list. Two of those emails, which went either one to people who I know don't use Kit and the other to people who I'm not sure what they use, incorporated polls asking them: ✅ Do they use Kit? ✅ Do they want to hear about the Accelerator? ✅ Are they curious but don’t use Kit? This kind of low-effort, high-impact segmentation ensures people get the right emails (and not the wrong ones). 💡 Want to see these strategies in action? I’ll be breaking them down inside my Kit Accelerator, an intimate, 6-person program for that blends technical teaching with strategic guidance, dedicated implementation time, and both 1:1 and group support. Interested? Drop a 💌 in the comments, and I’ll send you the details!

Nisha Vora took a 5-month break from social media – and traffic to her site went up. How? She built an algorithm-proof system that doesn’t rely on social media and Google. Here’s exactly what she did: 1. DISCOVERY FROM RECOMMENDATIONS Nisha uses Kit (formerly ConvertKit)'s Recommendations feature. This lets like-minded creators recommend her newsletter to their audience. Recommendations has added 6,500 subscribers to her list. 2. WELCOME SEQUENCES When someone subscribes, they get Nisha's best recipes right away. This tailored experience turns casual subscribers into superfans. It also creates a reliable revenue stream through consistent site visits. 3. PERSONALIZED AUTOMATIONS When readers love an Instant Pot recipe, Nisha knows it. Her automations send them more Instant Pot content they'll love. By sending readers exactly what they want, she creates both superfans and sustainable revenue. 4. DRIVE WEBSITE TRAFFIC WITH EMAIL Nisha’s email campaigns drive steady traffic to her website. They feature links to new recipes and blog posts. Ads on her site generate 37% of her total revenue. 5. STRATEGIC SOCIAL MEDIA Nisha still uses social media—but differently. She offers free PDF recipe guides to her Instagram and YouTube followers in exchange for their email. This moves relationships beyond social algorithms into direct, lasting connections. THE RESULT? Nisha has built a sustainable business with multiple income streams that isn’t solely dependent on social media or Google algorithms. Her email list drives traffic to her website, even when she isn’t posting on social media. THE TAKEAWAY → get discovered with Recommendations → create tailored welcome experiences → set up personalized automations → drive consistent website traffic with email → use social strategically If this was helpful, share this with the food blogger creators in your life.

Had fun recording a podcast with Nathan the founder of Kit (formerly ConvertKit). They do > $40M in ARR on top of his 150k+ audience. He’s done what I want to do: build an audience authentically, build a great business, work with super interesting customers (Tim Ferriss, and James Clear, Lil Jon, to name a few), and live a lovely lifestyle with his wife and kids. Nathan and his team in Boise made me feel right at home. We had a lovely dinner with his team, met other top creators, and spent hours jamming on Casper Studios, AI, and how we’re helping creators build AI products. He helped refine my thinking on the company as we head into our second year. Expect us to focus more on helping established creators monetize their audience through AI product development. We've been working with creators already and will lean into more of this in the coming months. Grateful for the experience. Loving these trips around the U.S. this quarter. P.S. Nathan also casually flies planes, and I got to take a beautiful ride over Boise as well.
