?? Sustainability at KISTERS: New photovoltaic system for our data centre ?? At KISTERS, responsible use of resources is at the heart of everything we do. We're pleased to announce that on 31 July 2024 we installed a new photovoltaic system with 222 modules at our headquarters in Aachen (Germany). This system will generate 90,000 kWh per year, powering our buildings and data centre entirely with clean, renewable energy. ???? This is part of our wider sustainability initiative, which includes several solar installations, EV charging points and an ISO 50001 energy management system across our sites. In recognition of our efforts, EcoVadis awarded us the Silver Medal for Sustainability in 2023. Together, we're contributing to a climate-friendly future - locally and globally. ?? Generating highly accurate load #forecasts with #AI Greece's leading energy supplier, PPC S.A., is now using KISTERS solutions. PPC uses the KISTERS forecasting tool #BelVis PRO to generate various forecasts using a bottom-up approach based on artificial intelligence (AI). This avoids short-term purchases on the electricity markets and balancing costs. As part of our long-standing partnership with PPC, we are working together on best practices with the goals of increasing demand flexibility, developing new tariffs, improving customer service and operational efficiency. We’re very lucky to be able to work with such formidable partners in the world of environmental intelligence. Combining our expertise in cloud software and environmental monitoring with partners like The Environmental Protection Group (EPG) makes for some pretty green (or blue) magic. ????
This week we were in Manchester maintaining the vegetation at the blue-green roof on top of Bruntwood works.?A collaborative project alongside STRI Group's design team, Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation and KISTERS Group, which was installed by Carrick Sports Construction Construction in 2021. Utilising Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation's Permavoid system to provide attenuation for the 100-year storm event and Polysync (a smart controller of water that acts as a forecasting hub using KISTERS Group's cloud-based intelligence), the roof top is brought to life from a diverse ecosystem of wildflowers, bringing flying insects, butterflies and bees into the city centre.
