KHS’s Perspective on the Future of Digital Quality Measurement (dQM) At KHS, we see an opportunity to simplify the path forward by focusing on Electronic Clinical Data Systems (ECDS) measures as a strategic middle ground. Our assessments reveal that health plans should be actively pursuing electronic feeds from other clinical sources now—even for Hybrid measures. Building these electronic data connections and adopting FHIR standards today will set the stage for smoother transitions in the future. We anticipate that NCQA will look for stabilized ECDS measures that demonstrate strong electronic data usage and consistent FHIR adoption before moving exclusively to dQM reporting.
