Defense attorney Lisa Kirsch-Satawa said she sees no advantage to getting rid of or reducing Zoom hearings; she said there should be more hearings on Zoom, especially for civil and child protection cases because there is little testimony taken. "Every time we go to court in person and we sit there and wait, it costs our clients money," Kirsch-Satawa said. "A lot of hearings, pretrial or status conferences, they take 10 minutes and you might be waiting in person for three hours. ... People are getting child care, taking time off work, all of these things in order to be there in person. It can be very inconvenient and unfair at times."
